While walking on the beach I found a china doll shard in the sand. I made her into a merchild, since she was a treasure that came from the sea.

Fascinated by mermaids, I began sculpting & painting other Merfolk including Mermen. There are many legends of Merfolk helping sailors, such as: A Merchild stole a human child's doll. Her Mermaid mother scolded her and made her return the doll along with a string of pearls.

As fisherman fished off the Spanish coast, a Mermaid suddenly rose from the water and yelled: "Sail to land!". The fishermen who trusted the Mermaid sailed immediately to land and were saved. The ones who did not lost their boats & their lives.

King Neptune, the God of the sea, often emerges from his deep sea palaces to aid seafarers who find themselves in peril. Using his conch shell trumpet, King Neptune can calm the roughest seas or create a storm by striking the ground with his trident. It is said that if the captains send him a riddle, he will direct his attention to solving this and the storm will abate.

A fisherman carried a stranded Mermaid back to the sea and he was rewarded with the knowledge of where to find treasures.
